Time to Enjoy Birdbaths

A backyard birdbath can be an oasis for many species of birds, adding aesthetic enrichment to your garden and great entertainment value.

Thoroughly clean the birdbath two to three times per week using a jet or pressure hose setting to rinse out between deep cleanings.  Clean the entire fixture at regular intervals. After cleaning, add enzymes approved for wildlife consumption to the clean birdbath to minimize algae growth.  Fill with water no more than two inches deep.  When it has been raining, the water will be deeper, making it more difficult for small birds to use. Place a few large stones in the water for small birds to stand on.
